EMPTY CONTAINERS
Project Outcome:

This Compliance Agreement for approved Sea Freight Depots for handling the inspection of imported empty containers.

Participants: Sea Freight Depots and Empty Container Stirage Yards
AQIS Team Leaders:
Industry Co-ordination: Hart Krtschil on behalf of the Australian Container Depots Association Inc
IWGQ Co-ordination: Secretariat Office

Current Status

Trials of the Compliance Agreement have been completed  in Melbourne, Perth and Adelaide in late 2002. The scheme was introduced in early 2003 and is now operative and compulsory for all MT containers arriving from overseas.

The AQIS and industry training package has been developed and is being delivered on a continuous basis

A Post Implementation Review is due to beundertaken 2006
